Our Services

Six ways we help you heal.

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic is not just about relieving pain; it is about enhancing even the seemingly healthy person’s function, performance, and quality of life. Chiropractic care ensures that the spine works properly to maximize normal nerve flow and minimize pressure on the nervous system from stress and postural strain or injury, leading to pain, dysfunction, and decreased quality of life. People of all ages are turning to chiropractic as a safe and effective alternative to medication and surgery for a wide variety of health issues. The goal of chiropractic care is to relieve pain, promote healing, restore, and maintain function, reduce the likelihood of re-injury, restore proper motion, and prevent accelerated degenerative spine disease. The chiropractor’s role is to facilitate and increase the potential for health so we can live life to its fullest.

As parents, we always strive to provide the best possible care for our children. When it comes to their health and well-being, exploring different avenues of holistic healthcare can be beneficial.

Pediatric chiropractic care involves the evaluation and treatment of spinal and musculoskeletal conditions in children. Chiropractors specializing in pediatric care receive specialized training to understand young patients’ unique anatomy and development. They use gentle and safe techniques to address any spinal misalignments or dysfunctions, known as subluxations, that may be impacting a child’s health.

The spine plays a crucial role in the nervous system’s function, and subluxations can interfere with the proper communication between the brain and the rest of the body. Pediatric chiropractors use gentle adjustments and manipulations tailored to the child’s age and size to correct these subluxations, supporting optimal nervous system function.

Best Milestones for Spinal Checkups

Did you know that the best time to get your spine checked for subluxations is when you’re an infant? The nervous system is needed for the proper growth and development of children. There are “windows of opportunity” when certain parts of the body and brain grow. If the nervous system is not working when the opportunity arises, it could be missed.

We recommend visits shortly after the birth process, as your baby starts to hold their head up, as they are learning to sit up, then as they begin to crawl, stand, and walk.

Benefits of Pediatric Chiropractic

Enhanced Development and Function: Pediatric chiropractic care can improve a child’s overall development by ensuring proper spinal alignment and nervous system function. This can include cognitive function, motor skills, coordination, and sensory processing improvements.

Improved Immune System Function: The nervous and immune systems are closely interconnected. Pediatric chiropractic adjustments can help optimize immune system function, potentially reducing the frequency and severity of common childhood illnesses. A healthy immune system means fewer sick days and a stronger defense against infections.

Management of Musculoskeletal Conditions: Pediatric chiropractors are skilled in managing various musculoskeletal conditions commonly experienced by children. These may include colic, ear infections, torticollis, scoliosis, and sports-related injuries. By addressing the underlying cause of these conditions, chiropractic care can provide long-lasting relief and promote healing.

Support for Neurodevelopmental Disorders: While chiropractic care does not cure neurodevelopmental disorders like ADHD or ASD, it can provide supportive benefits. Chiropractic care may help improve behavior, focus, and overall well-being in children with these conditions by optimizing nervous system function.

As your belly grows and the weight begins to get heavier and shift positions, it is not uncommon (but not normal) to begin to experience pain. Studies have found that about half of all expectant mothers will develop low-back pain at some point during their pregnancies. This is especially true during late pregnancy, when the baby’s head presses down on a woman’s back, legs, and buttocks, irritating her sciatic nerve. And for those who already suffer from low-back pain, the problem can become even worse. Ensuring that your pelvis is in correct alignment, will create less stress and pressure on your spine, and it also result in a shorter labor time!

Delivering Great Results

Many pregnant women have found that chiropractic adjustments provide relief from the increased low-back pain brought on by pregnancy. Chiropractic manipulation is safe throughout your pregnancy for you and your unborn child. In addition, it can be beautiful for those trying to avoid medications in treating their back pain. Doctors of chiropractic can also offer nutrition, ergonomic, and exercise advice to help you enjoy a healthy pregnancy.

Chiropractic care can also help after childbirth. In the eight weeks following labor and delivery, the ligaments that loosened during pregnancy begin to tighten up again. Ideally, joint problems brought on during pregnancy from improper lifting or reaching should be treated before the ligaments return to their pre-pregnancy state to prevent muscle tension, headaches, rib discomfort, and shoulder problems.

If you are expecting or thinking of having a baby, it makes perfect sense to have a checkup by a Chiropractor so you can experience the benefits of a healthier pregnancy, shorter labor time, and more restful nights.

“The Webster Technique”

The official definition of the Webster Technique, as taught by the ICPA Certification program, is as follows: “The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment that reduces interference to the nerve system and balances maternal pelvic muscles and ligaments. This, in turn, reduces torsion in the uterus, a cause of intra-uterine constraint of the baby and allows for optimal fetal positioning in preparation for birth.”

What is intrauterine constraint? Intrauterine constraint is defined as any forces external to the developing fetus that obstruct the fetus’s normal movement. Intrauterine constraint can prevent the developing fetus from attaining a head-down vertex position and achieving a normal vaginal birth. When this occurs, it can be addressed with a safe, effective, and natural solution such as the Webster Technique.

The Webster Technique is a safe means to restore proper pelvic balance and function for pregnant mothers. In expectant mothers presenting breech, there has been a high reported success rate of the baby turning to the normal vertex position once the interference has been removed. The Webster Technique has been successfully used in women whose babies are transverse and posterior. It has also been successfully used with twins. Any position of the baby other than ROA may indicate sacral subluxation and, therefore, intrauterine constraint.

Traction / Decompression

Your spine provides support for your body. It consists of bones called vertebrae, with ligaments and spinal disks that keep it flexible. Your spinal column provides a nerve pathway that runs down the middle of these bones, ligaments and disks.

Spine injuries or degeneration (wear and tear) to your spine can cause pain. You might feel pain from compression in your spine that puts pressure on your spinal cord or nerves. Spinal decompression seeks to relieve the pressure to ease the pain. Spinal traction is a non-surgical way to relieve pain and correct problems in the spine.

Traction

Spinal traction is a form of decompression therapy that relieves pressure on the spine. It can be performed manually or mechanically. This treatment stretches the spine to take pressure off compressed discs. This straightens the spine and improves the body’s ability to heal itself.

In manual spinal traction, a physical therapist uses their hands to put people in a state of traction. Then they use manual force on the joints and muscles to widen the spaces between vertebrae.

In mechanical spinal traction, you will lie on a table that has special tools to stretch the spine. A series of ropes, slings, and pulleys will be attached to your body to mechanically relieve pressure.

The results of spinal traction include pain relief, proper spinal alignment, and decompressed joints. Spinal traction stretches the muscles and bones in the back to combat the effects of gravity. Under the right circumstances, this could significantly improve the way you move and feel throughout the day.

“What Conditions Can Spinal Decompression Treat?”

  • Bulging discs – when a cushion between vertebra bulges out
  • Degenerative discs – when the cushion between vertebra starts wearing out
  • Herniated discs – when part of a disc pushes on a nerve
  • Pinched nerves – when a nerve gets pinched (compressed), causing numbness, pain, or tingling
  • Sciatica – damage to your sciatic nerve
  • Spinal stenosis – narrowing of spaces in your spine die to bone spurs or bulging or herniated discs

Shockwave Therapy

An array of low-energy acoustic wave pulsations enhancing the body’s ability to heal through hyperstimulation that creates an extraordinary healing effect. The results are less pain, reduced swelling, and increased range of motion in the affected areas.

What is Shockwave Therapy?

Shockwave Therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy, is a non-invasive surgical way of treating a wide array of soft tissue conditions. It is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes an array of low-energy acoustic wave pulsations that are administered through the skin of the injured area, enhancing the body’s natural healing process to improve regenerative potential. This FDA-approved technology is quickly becoming a popular and successful treatment for healing connective tissue injuries.

The Technology Behind The Treatment

Shockwave Technology generates a mechanical pressure wave which is transferred to the body via an application head to reduce adhesions (scarring) in muscle, ligaments, and tendons. These pressure waves enhance the body’s ability to heal through hyperstimulation by increasing cell permeability, increasing cell membrane and tissue circulation, and activating the body’s healing process.

This procedure is performed in the office with the benefit of patients often being able to return to work and exercise immediately.

Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping helps increase blood flow and oxygen, and aids lymph drainage. The result is a reduction in the amount of lactic acid that builds up in muscles, helping the affected areas heal more quickly.

Kinesiology tap is great for treating common sports injuries like shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and runner’s knee. We’ve used kinesiology taping to help lots of patients with tennis and golfer’s elbow ,rotator cuff injuries, posture correction, and groin and hamstring pulls.

Ask at your next appointment if kinesiology taping can help with your injury!

Automotive Accidents

Been In an Accident, Now What?

If you have been in a car accident, you are likely concerned about the automobile itself first. Now, pause and think…if your car has damage, how do you think your spine is doing? One specialty in our practices is treating whiplash and other injuries sustained in car and personal injury accidents. If you have been in an accident, think medical attention first, and then the rest.

The Seriousness of Auto Accidents

After an auto accident, you may suffer from a variety of different pains and discomforts. It can occasionally take time to set in, but the effects of an accident can affect you for years to come if they’re not promptly addressed. Some of the complaints may include:

  • Dizziness
  • Headaches
  • Low Back Pain
  • Mid Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Radiating Pain in the Arms, Hands, and Legs
  • Signs of Concussion
  • Whiplash

Whiplash

One of the most common injuries associated with car accidents is whiplash injuries. Whiplash refers to a group of injuries resulting from the sudden, violent whipping motion of the head in an accident. The whip can happen in any direction – back-forward, forward-back, side-side, or anything in between. Various injuries can result, including damage to the supporting muscles, ligaments, and other connective tissues in the neck and upper back. A host of related symptoms can be attributed to the injuries to these areas and the untrained eye, which can appear completely unconnected to the original trauma.

The effects of whiplash may take weeks or months to fully manifest; thus, it cannot be assumed that no injuries exist just because no symptoms are felt immediately following the accident.

We Have Got You Covered

An auto accident should always be taken seriously, no matter how harmless it may at first appear, because of the areas of the body that it can affect. Chiropractors focus on disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system and their effects on general health. Advanced chiropractic care is used most often to treat neuromusculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches. If you even suspect that you have suffered such an injury, a visit to a chiropractor is strongly advised so an assessment can be made and appropriate treatment recommended.
